IC INFORMATION
PREINCARNATION
Name: Referred to outside of canon as Spring Sprite or the Spirit of Spring
Canon: Fantasia 2000
Age: Unknown due to her magical nature
Species: Nature Sprite
Appearance: Generally the size of a young girl or a petite woman, Spring Sprite is a humanoid magical being with flowing wavy hair that lengthens and spreads with her magical cloak that hangs from her arms and often obscures her legs. Her eyes are consistently yellow, but the rest of her body shifts between states including plant matter, water, and ash.
History:
In a primal world brimming with magic and lacking in a dominant mortal species similar to any on Earth, nature itself takes form in sentient beings as excess magic in an area coalesces to one particular point. Each of these sprites or spirits take on a specific aspect of nature with a variety of purposes and a spectrum of powers forged with imprinting what they contact. The powers of these beings can work in tandem or conflict depending on what they embody.

Spring Sprite was one such being that came into existence in the water spring that bubbled out from beneath a cliff face in a cavern near the base of a mountain. Waking in the water with slow and drifting thought, she gradually developed a more and more divergent form as distinct from the water itself the more she moved and tried to interact with the world. Initially content to remain within the pool, she became curious of the surrounding plants and ground when she noticed the movement of animals above the surface. Coming to the edge of the pool, she touched the mossy ground and felt a shift towards solidity that coaxed her to go further. It took many trials, but she broke from the water and up into the grass where her body took its final shape with a train of her cloak dripping from her as the water ran off from her in wave that led to her escape from the pool.

Linked to water and now given a solid form as she imprinted on the tree she used to stand and the grass beneath her. Learning to walk was an experience in itself, moving from tree to tree for support. Each contact imprinted more flora into her, and she began to soak in the sun and exude the solar energy in her ambient magic. Exploring with her curiosity driving her to seek more, her cloak fell over top of many different insects pollinating the flowers and they left their own imprint as yet another component of the life cycle of plants. Days passed as she found identity in growth and renewal, her presence and contact increasingly causing vegetation to spring to life from barren dirt and existing plant life to surge in size and maturity.

While exploring the mountain range, she came across a young elk that had become separated from its herd. Alone and weak, he calmed in her presence and allowed her to guide him back to her water spring. Feeding from the plants infused by her magic and her water spring, the elk regained strength. There he remained until his herd returned as the cool weather began to encroach upon the land. Unable to fight the seasonal shift lulling temperate life into hibernation, Spring Sprite retreated into the cavern above her spring and froze as ice.

Time passed, and warmth naturally returned. Gradually, she thawed, and upon coming out of the cavern, found the elk had remained behind. The two became once more inseparable as she further explored her powers, growing in skill in creation and even learning to glide and fly above the treetops. Seasons came and went this way, and despite having been mortal, the elk remained youthful thanks to her influence, and gained in sentience. Although Spring Sprite occasionally met others like herself, she remained there with the elk.

As her companion, the elk would nudge her early from the frozen winter as temperatures began to climb with a hot breath upon the ice in which she slept. Reforming within the spring pool, Spring Sprite would leave the spring to sweep away the snow and awaken the plant life around the mountain near her home and bring it into bloom as a herald of the new season. One such spring day however, when she attempted to sweep up over the mountain’s side, she discovered that her powers were faltering and the grass would not grow further up the rocky face. Seeking to understand, she went to the top of the mountain and found a crater inside which a large stone form was nestled in the center.

Approaching carefully, no sooner had she tentatively reached out to touch that stone did it awaken into a very different kind of spirit. The Firebird burst into smoke, its magic stretching down into the depths of the mountain to pull at the magma lurking beneath. Scared from the crater, Spring Sprite raced to the top rim only for the Firebird to rise after her. Fleeing from its anger at being awoken, the Firebird blasted the mountainside to blow it apart and send her tumbling back down into her precious forest. Landing beside one of her most recent works of blooms upon a tree, Spring Sprite watched in growing horror as the Firebird flowed down the mountain as lava and pushed into the forest, setting each thing it touched ablaze.

Spring Sprite ran, but the Firebird pursued relentlessly as her elk companion could only watch from safety upon a stone cliff.

Without access to her flight, Spring Sprite fled on foot, and as she lost ground to the growing wave of lava behind her, she turned upwards to climb the tallest stripped tree ahead of her in desperation to escape while surrounded on all sides. Cornered, Spring Sprite could only watch in silent terror as the massive Firebird rose, spread its wings, and fell upon her. Her body burned away in the attack with the rest of her forest.

Left to wait for the lava flow to cool, the elk searched the landscape covered in ash for the remnants of the Spring Sprite. Finding her, he roused her from an unconscious state as ash, her body weak as her mind struggled to come to terms with the devastation wrought by the Firebird. Lifted from the ash onto the elk’s head, her companion began to run with her. The passing wind swept at her body, but it was the fall of her tears that whispered of her intact magic. Hope rose as she realized she could act to restore the land, and she took to the task immediately with every ounce of her strength she could muster with her power amplified by that very promise she might rekindle life to her home.

Beginning with bringing water to the parched land in rain falling from her spreading cloak, Spring Sprite soaked the land and sprigs of plant life answered. One by one initially, she grew new trees as her cloak left a carpet of grass behind. As her excitement grew with her success, she began to spread her power wider and wider until simply racing along, the trees stretched into the sky from the passing touch of her cloak. Spring Sprite circled the mountain, and defiant of the Firebird, she covered the mountain in lush life, gave rise to a new river to sustain the land with water, and repopulated the insects to ensure the survival of the forest.

Rising into the air, she flew one last time to observe the grand forest she had created, and scattered in the wind as her magic fell back to the land to sustain it for time to come under the watch of her companion.

REINCARNATION
Name: Ornella Tilly (Nickname Nel)
Age: 10 years old
Appearance: Linked here. She stands 1.33m.

History: Third child born to Mary Ann Tilly and her wife Janice, and granddaughter to Sam Stone through Mary and Luke Walker through Janice, Ornella found herself surrounded by love and support from her first breath. Raised locally in Moss Manor village, she did not have to go without necessities at any time. Moreover, whenever she fell ill, her mother Mary would always catch on quickly and get her treated before it could become severe.
As one of five siblings, the eldest being an adopted child named Feste, Nel found her niche of talent in art to set herself apart. Everything from crafting to drawing to painting drew a keen interest from her, and she would work with whatever was available. Advanced in her skill of drawing for her age, she rarely goes anywhere without her sketchbook just in case she spots something special. In school, she is above average in performance, but excels most where her interests lie.
While Nel has noticed she has one thing that sets her apart from her siblings (in that her hair requires far more maintenance), she keeps that to herself in favor of promoting harmony.

First Echo: The first time Ornella touched grass outside in the sunlight as an infant, she gained her first Echo with the novel contact with plant life. In her former life, it was when she touched the grassy land that she took her full physical form, including the definition of her trailing hair. As a result of this Echo, her hair gradually grew faster and faster in an attempt to match her preincarnation. By this time in her life, she requires weekly haircuts to keep it from weighing too heavily at midback length. Oddly, the shorter it is cut, the faster her hair grows back.

PERSONALITY
Pre-Incarnation Personality: Spring Sprite was a spirit of renewal at her core, and her personality served her purpose. Dedicated to her forest of origin, every springtime, she emerged to tend the plants of the range. Using her magic in her work, she not only strove to keep the plants flourishing, but to improve their beauty and encourage them to naturally spread for themselves through other means like pollination. Spring Sprite held her work to a standard, and would not only focus down to a single flower, but would strive for beauty beyond what was already in the world. If not satisfied with her efforts, she would double them and try again. Always gentle, she took care to handle her plants and insects in a manner that caused them no harm.

Curiousity compelled her forward even in the presence of something stronger than herself. Included in this propensity toward risk, she lingered in the face of approaching danger in an effort to protect the life she nurtured. Failing such effort, Spring Sprite felt remorse and grief for the loss of the forest, and willingly gave her magic to the land to recover and better the life of that which she so loved.

Any differences?:
> Ornella is far more social than Spring Sprite. While the nature sprite did form a close bond with her animal companion, she was otherwise content to be alone and stay in one area. Nel was born into a large family, and as such, thrives on the love and affection to be found there even if she needs to recharge someplace quiet from time to time.

> While not irresponsible, as she does as she is asked and can be trusted to watch her younger sibling as needed, Nel is not a particularly a nurturing sort of person. She has her hands full enough being a kid, and prefers not to be distracted when she has art to create.

> The curiosity that drives Nel is greater in that she wants to explore new places, and would like to travel to very different places when she gets old enough. Further still, Spring Sprite had a fairly simple existence, while Nel seeks the complex so she can better express her understanding of the world.

Abilities:
☙ Animal Companion: Spring Sprite has an elk that over time was infused heavily by her magic and became something of a caretaker to her when she served the forest. It is smarter than most animals, and intuitively knows how the sprite is feeling as well as what may help her.
☙ Magical Being: Born of and nearly entirely composed of magic, Spring Sprite does not require sustenance, though she can gather energy from sunlight, does not age, and her body is extremely lightweight, even when composed of water. Additionally, she communicates through body language and expressions, and is unable to use verbal language or utter sound.
☙ Form Change: Her body changes depending on what she is in contact with at the time (water vs plants) but she can willingly switch as necessary to access the other side of her powers. When burned, her body will come back together as ash until her magic fully awakens. In her plant form, she can make plants grow and fly/glide, while in her water form she can merge with the water or walk along on its surface.
☙ Rain Generation: By switching into her water form on land, Spring Sprite can form a cloud’s worth of rain using her cloak and hair while she keeps contact with the ground.
☙ Snow Removal: Walking over snow with her cloak spread is all it takes to melt the ice crystals and awaken the life beneath.
☙ Plant Growth: Whether springing from her tears, her touch, or her mere presence, new plants will grow where she goes and plants already present will grow and mature. This is not involuntary, and she can withhold the magic.
☙ Plant Creation/Alteration: Spring Sprite can make new plants right from the dirt, fully matured, and she can also physically manipulate their appearance (such as a change in color or petal count) or add blossoms, grow new leaves, or reshape branches. Local flora essentially acts as templates for her, ranging from pine trees to flowers to simple grass and everything between that exists in a temperate climate. If she had travelled and encountered other plants, she could have learned those as templates through physical contact and made new species. She has a local awareness of the flora, especially those touched by her magic.
☙ Pollinator Generation: To help plants pollinate, Spring Sprite can produce fully mature butterflies, bees, dragonflies, and lady beetles. These tend to emerge from her hair but also do come out of her cloak when trying to produce a significant population (such as a full swarm).
☙ Size Change: At rest, Spring Sprite is the size of a petite woman or young girl. When drained of energy, she shrinks to roughly 15cm in size. When making use of her power over a larger area, she can grow to be roughly 270cm tall (such as when producing rain) while her cloak spreads much further proportionally. Similarly, when focused on a single flower, she can shrink smaller than the height of grass.
☙ Gliding/Flight and Speed: At full use of her power, she can fly freely high in the sky, but this is when only releasing her magic. Holding nothing back, she can circle a mountain twice in less than half a minute. Separated from the ground without contact from her cloak without using her other powers, she can fly over and between tree tops. If not in flight, she can climb rapidly several stories in a matter of seconds up a tree, or run just slightly above human speed.
☙ Mood and Power Imbalance: When frightened or overpowered by a destructive magical force, Spring Sprite loses control of her powers above except with respect to her speed and climbing ability (a lesser level of her flight). She can glide in the presence of a destructive force, but only if not frightened.
☙ Seasonal Affect: In the winter, Spring Sprite becomes excessively tired in the cold temperatures as plants tend to do, and hibernates. She can pass the time by allowing herself to freeze as water.
☙ Limited Pool: As a being composed almost purely of magic, Spring Sprite can exhaust her resources and cease to exist as a sentient being. She regains power resting and in sunlight, but is not limitless. Restoring a full mountain and its surrounding area with mature forests with the addition of a new river was enough to exhaust her.

ROLEPLAY SAMPLES

- 3rd person/action:
[Original Character]
Surveying the forest following the thunderstorm in the night, she glides slowly over the thick carpet of grass that creeps higher at the brush of her trailing cloak. New flowers stretch upwards into the morning sunlight, knocking dew from the blades of surrounding grass as the blossoms take their place in the tapestry she weaves without thought in her wake.

Her bright yellow eyes scan only to fixate on a single point in the distance. Her pace quickens as she drifts up from the ground to float on the breeze towards a tree in the middle of a clearing. Hoove beats follow behind her, the pace easier than her urgent flow in answer of the wounded. Reaching the tree, she smoothly leans back as her legs break through the fall of her cloak with a bend, and she extends her feet down to the ground as she sinks. Her cloak curtains her lower half once more standing on the ground as she inspects the damage left by a lightning bolt. The trunk is split, several branches touching the ground where none should, and weeping sap slowly drying in the warm-hued light filtering through neighboring branches.

Lips pressing together as her brow furrows, she reaches a hand out to touch the bark as a faint whisper of pain filters into her hand. Flinching, she smooths her hand comfortly against the tree in promise of relief.

The sprite dips into the magic within herself, spreading her cloak wider than her arms as she pushes from the ground and winds around the base of the tree with her first release of magic sent down into the earth to refresh the roots and help them wind deeper to take in rain water that soaked the dirt. Her cloak brushes against the tree, strings of magic trailing into the fibers as she takes hold while climbing higher and higher. As she spirals upward towards the sky, her magic lifts and draws in the angled portion of the tree to return it flush with the main trunk, and the magic seeps deep to bind it in place. The charred layers of wood fall away in her passing, and is replaced with budding patches of bark. Repaired below and above ground, she comes to rest in the highest fork of the branches atop the trunk, and carefully inspects the repair. The tree is at peace beneath her hands.

Yet, she can do more.

Springing into the air over the tree, she drapes her cloak over it and dives down, her cloak brushing over it as the branches stretch further outward and fill with new leaves. Faint lines of color race her to the ground through the bark, marbling the appearance with white marks that resemble the lightning that had struck.

Drifting away from the tree, she glides on her back as she looks at the tree from the growing distance to appraise her additions. A smile curls her lips, and she reaches a hand out to find the warm fur of her waiting companion as she lands on the ground next to him. The elk too is studying it, and in approval, he turns his head to press his nose to the top of her hair.

That should do nicely.

- 1st person/network: [Reincarnated Character] : [Text on the Network]
Hi everyone! 🌼

All of you have been so nice to mum, my grandpa, and Skypa. That made me so happy, and I want to say thank you!!!

I’ve been practicing with my numbers stuff when mum says its safe, and I’m starting to get the hang of it. I made some new flowers that I think are pretty neat looking and the petals are super soft. If anyone would like one, I’d be happy to give you one for your house or your garden. And if you don’t like the colors, I can change them. I don’t usually take requests but I’ll make an exception this time.

ANYTHING ELSE?
I am willing to let her powers be nerfed as much as is deemed appropriate.
